MORNING NEWS: Frasers sets sights on Meadowhall

Good morning, this is your AM bulletin with the latest news and views from EG, as well as a few of the best bits from the morning papers.

Frasers Group is making its boldest foray into retail property yet, with a leading bid to buy Sheffield’s Meadowhall. Mall giant Unibail Rodamco Westfield is also understood to be bidding. Last year British Land and Norges Bank instructed CBRE to find a buyer for the 1.4m sq ft shopping centre, with a price tag of £750m.

The government will promise to smooth the planning and power issues that are holding up the development of data centres. In a speech later today, technology secretary Michelle Donelan will assure the industry that steps will be taken.

And Huel – the meal-replacement drink with a name that sounds like it has just come back up – has taken a 71,800 sq ft prelet at PLP’s 135-acre Milton Keynes logistics park.
