Frasers takes over Peterborough’s former John Lewis

Frasers Group will take the 92,000 sq ft former John Lewis space at Invesco’s Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough.

The retailer plans to open a Frasers concept store alongside a 30,000 sq ft Sports Direct, at the anchor space at Invesco’s 835,000 sq ft shopping centre.

The Sports Direct store will also house USC, Jack Wills and GAME.

Ed Ginn, Invesco’s director of investment management, said: “The signing of Frasers Group is a significant step in our drive to transform Queensgate into a leading retail and leisure destination.”

A spokesperson for Frasers said: “We are big believers in physical retail and these openings mark an exciting time for the group as we continue to expand our store portfolio across the UK and Europe.”

Following the completion of landlord works, Frasers Group is due to take access to the space in 2025.
