Wilko head office hits the market

Collapsed high street retailer Wilko’s head office in Nottinghamshire has hit the market.

Sanderson Weatherall has been appointed by joint administrators at PwC to sell the company’s former head office building at Manton Wood, Worksop. It hopes to achieve offers in the region of £5m.

Built in the 1990s, the freehold property comprises 117,000 sq ft of office and warehousing space on a site of 7.51 acres and includes 300 car parking spaces.

Manton Wood has strong road connections and is home to occupiers including DHL, B&Q, Greencore and Royal Mail.

Wilko, which had 400 stores across the UK, went into administration in August, having struggled for around a decade with growing competition from rivals such as B&M and Poundland. The impact of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis on the high street caused further difficulties for the budget homeware retailer.
