A £25m “party boat” intended for London has set sail for Europe after planners deemed it too big for the Thames.
Smart Group, which owns the 86m-long Oceandiva, said: “The combination of regulatory challenges and infrastructural inadequacies proved too great to overcome.”
The 1,000-capacity vessel was meant to begin hosting events in the spring of 2023, but failed to obtain an alcohol licence after Newham Council received a record number of complaints.
