Federated Hermes has bolstered its real estate debt offer with the hire of Paul Robinson as director of origination and structuring, in a newly created role.
Robinson previously headed up the underwriting teams at Trimont Real Estate Advisors and Hudson Advisors. He has also held roles within the commercial real estate businesses of banks including Lloyds, Hypo Real Estate and Anglo Irish, having started his career at GE Capital.
In his new role, which is based in London, Robinson will report to Vincent Nobel, head of asset-based lending. Robinson will be responsible for driving the origination of lending opportunities, and design of customised loan structuring to ensure income capture and deliver stable income distributions to investors over the long-term.
Nobel said: “We are at a favourable point in the economic cycles, with our clients actively seeking differentiated opportunities to access the strong, stable income streams generated by the real estate debt asset class.”
Nobel added that Robinson’s experience will “help us to further identify attractive investment opportunities and maintain our asset-focused and successful underwriting approach”.
Robinson said that in his new role, he will “source relative value opportunities, underpinned by a differentiated lending approach to maximise the counter-cyclical opportunities offered by the prevailing market conditions”.
Federated Hermes launched its real estate debt business in 2015.
