Former Sony regional HQ to be turned into secondary school

A Liverpool office that was once the regional headquarters of electronics giant Sony is set to be redeveloped as a secondary school.

Mace and the Department for Education have lodged plans for a change of use, via permitted development rights, of Napier Court at Stephenson Way on the Wavertree Technology Park.

If approved, the building will become the home of King’s Leadership Academy, with room for 1,050 pupils. “There is a significant need for new school places within the Liverpool district in September 2024, which this project aims to address,” said consultancy Carter Jonas in a report filed alongside the application.
