Confidence drops after technical recession

Recession concerns and uncertainty about how the economy will perform led to consumer confidence falling or the first time since October, according to a survey from GfK.

The survey revealed that confidence had fallen to -21 points in February, from -19 in January.

GfK has been tracking confidence levels since the 1970s. A record low of -49 was recorded in the aftermath of the Liz Truss mini-Budget.
