British Land has appointed former Lazard UK chair William Rucker as its new chair.
Rucker replaces Tim Score who has been chair of the REIT for five years and has sat on its board for a decade.
Rucker, who officially takes up the role on 9 July, will also chair BL’s nomination committee.
Rucker has extensive experience in the real estate sector having previously been chair of Crest Nicholson and Quintain Estates and Development, where current BL chief executive Simon Carter was finance director between 2015 and 2017.
Carter said: “I am very much looking forward to working with William again. He has extensive relevant experience, having chaired both public and private UK real estate businesses. His insights will be invaluable as we continue to execute our value-add strategy and look to seize growth opportunities in the portfolio and those emerging in the market.”
Rucker will stand down from his current position as chair of pub group Marston’s, a role he has held for five and a half years, on 8 July.
