The national governing body of ice hockey in the UK has found a new home at the Landing Pad on Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, Yorkshire.
Landing Pad, measuring 23,000 sq ft and operated by Blueprint Workspace, is located in the Community Stadium. It is the first serviced office space delivered at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
It offers start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs in the health, sports and wellbeing sectors workspaces designed to facilitate innovation and networking.
The scheme forms a part of vision for the next phase of development at the park, which is being brought forward by Scarborough Group International after it was appointed as development partner in 2020. The proposals span 1m sq ft of commercial space on 80 acres of development land and established facilities.
Rachel Vickers, senior commercial manager at Scarborough Group, said: “The relocation of a national governing body which oversees winter sport is another boost for Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park and, in particular, Landing Pad, which is already home to several other sports-related occupiers.”
Existing occupiers at Landing Pad include Barnsley Women’s FC, Cricket Arena, Reyt, Medilink North and UK National External Quality Assessment Service.
The wider ice sports community on Legacy Park includes British Ice Skating based at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield; Elite League side Sheffield Steelers playing at the Utilita Arena Sheffield, and England Ice Hockey located at iceSheffield.
Legacy Park is a partnership between Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield City Trust, NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, and Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber.
