Housebuilder gets approval for Hampshire garden village scheme

Housebuilder CG Fry & Son’s plans to develop 111 homes in Buckland Development’s Welborne Garden Village scheme have been approved.

The 6,000-home masterplan by Buckland was give outline planning approval by Fareham Borough Council in 2021 and will be set in 1,000 acres, to the north of Fareham.

CG Fry & Son’s approved scheme will feature a landscaped corridor, public open space as well as amenities including a primary school, and a park within close proximity.

The development will feature home sizes, from one to five bedrooms, catering to various market demands.

The planning permission takes Welborne up to 474 houses approved, out of a total of 700 expected in the first phase of the development, with permission for the village centre and a further 71 houses to be confirmed.

Buckland Group chairman Mark Thistlethwayte said: “The approval of CG Fry & Son’s planning application marks a milestone moment in the first phase of Welborne’s development.”
