Southwark Council has given the go-ahead to GMS Estates for the conversion of 33-38 Rushworth Street and 1-7 King’s Bench Street, SE1.
The two-storey 33-38 Rushworth building is an early 20th century gabled warehouse, spanning 24,757 sq ft.
The developer has proposed partial demolition of both buildings to allow the development of an office block, measuring 29,084 sq ft.
The ground floor space next to the reception will become a co-working space and host meetings, in addition to the meeting spaces within the other office suites.
The scheme, designed by Emrys Architects, also includes roof terraces, bike storage for 40 bicycles, and other amenities.
Construction is expected to start in the second half of this year.
Rolfe Judd advised GMS on planning matters.
