Planners back Mintridge to deliver 125 Bedfordshire homes

Mintridge Strategic Land has received resolutions to grant planning permission from Central Bedfordshire Council’s development management committee to deliver two complementary schemes on land west of 129-131 High Street and land south of Cricketers Road in Arlesey, Bedfordshire.

The scheme near High Street will see the development of 103 homes, of which 30 will be affordable, alongside a 64-bedroom care home, on a 13-acre site. The housing will comprise a mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties.

Furthermore, the site will contain substantive green infrastructure together with sufficient parking provision for each proposed home.

The Cricketers Road scheme will comprise 22 affordable homes with two or three bedrooms on a 4.8-acre site. It also includes an area of amenity space and landscaping.

Thomas Cardwell, managing director at Mintridge Strategic Land, said: “Mintridge submitted planning in November last year, to get to development management committee within six months, and to receive a resolution to grant planning permission on both sites in that period is no small feat. We are hopefully not too far off banking our first few consents since we founded the business two and a half years ago.”

Mintridge has instructed Savills to put the larger site to the market in the coming weeks.

Woods Hardwick designed both schemes and advised Mintridge on planning matters.
