Cala Homes and Brooklands College have gained consent for a mixed-use masterplan consisting of 320 homes and a sustainable education campus in Surrey.
Elmbridge Borough Council approved the scheme, which is designed by PRP and will provide educational, residential and leisure uses. Of the resi element, 40% will be affordable.
Features will include a new community hub building with a sports hall for students and local residents, a special educational needs provision, and upgraded teaching facilities.
The site’s origins can be traced back to the 17th century, when it operated as Brooklands Farm before a now-listed mansion house was built by the Locke King family, which went on to build Brooklands motor racing circuit nearby.
The mansion house and grounds were developed into a technical college in the 1950s.
