Student accommodation specialist The Dot Group has appointed Colliers agent Paddy Allen as chief executive of its lending platform Kinetic Capital.
Allen will join the business at the end of the summer and is tasked with growing the business. He will replace Steve Grant, who founded Kinetic with Dot chief executive Nicholas Porter in 2020.
Grant will become chief corporate development officer at Dot and will continue to work closely with Kinetic.
Allen is currently head of operational capital markets at Colliers and has some 20 years of experience in real estate and the living sector. Prior to Colliers, he was a partner at Cushman & Wakefield.
Porter said: “Steve and Paddy are exceptional executives with significant experience in the PBSA sector who will play key roles in Dot’s future success. Paddy’s expertise in student housing and debt will support and accelerate Kinetic’s growth, building on the strong foundations laid by Steve and the team.”
Allen added that he was excited to be taking the helm at Kinetic to drive the next phase of its growth. “Kinetic Capital is the market leader in student housing debt and it is a really exciting time to join,” he said. “Steve and his team have built an incredible business with a differentiated approach and unparalleled sector expertise.”
