SEGRO has secured planning consent from the London Borough of Havering for the development of its industrial and warehouse scheme, SEGRO Park Courier Road, in Rainham, east London.
The new estate spans 20 acres with detailed planning consent now granted for up to 310,500 sq ft of industrial and logistics space.
Prelet opportunities are available for units from 95,000 to 260,970 sq ft.
SEGRO Park Courier Road is the fourth phase of development by the REIT in Havering. It has already completed the first two phases at SEGRO Park Rainham, where full occupancy was reached earlier this year, and the first phase of development at SEGRO Park Ferry Lane.
Courier Road Park also forms part of the East Plus regeneration scheme – a partnership with GLA Land and Property which will deliver 1.4m sq ft of industrial space, spanning the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Newham, and regenerating previously derelict or underused land.
Bonnie Minshull, head of London at SEGRO, said: “SEGRO Park Courier Road is a fantastic example of what SEGRO does best: working in partnership with local authorities to deliver best-in-class, sustainable spaces, well suited to customer needs and bringing jobs and wider benefits to the local community.
“The quality and breadth of customers occupying the earlier phases of our East Plus developments is testimony to the high standard of our spaces. We look forward to continuing the success with the delivery of SEGRO Park Courier Road.”
In line with the company’s Responsible SEGRO commitment to champion low-carbon growth, SEGRO Park Courier Road will be carbon neutral, with each unit targeting an EPC A+ and BREEAM Outstanding ratings. In addition to including low-carbon technology, sustainable methods of construction will ensure embodied carbon will be minimised.
Additionally, SEGRO will set aside approximately 20% of the site as safeguarded biodiverse natural habitat.
Stantec advised SERGO on planning.
