The Quintain-owned London Designer Outlet shopping centre in Wembley has struck several new deals and renewals with existing tenants.
Lids, a sportswear retailer, has opened a new 702 sq ft store at the LDO, while menswear brand Ben Sherman will take up 1,339 sq ft.
Long-standing brands at LDO such as Sunglass Hut and Sony have relocated to larger units, expanding by about 20% and 50% respectively. These moves continue a trend of store upsizes at the outlet, with existing brands adding 21,000 sq ft over the past four years.
Following 11 years at the outlet, Sunglass Hut has renewed its lease for another 10 years. Sony, having been at the LDO for nine years, has extended its lease for an additional five years.
The outlet celebrated a second consecutive record-breaking May with a 7% increase over 2023, with sales of £8.6m. June saw a 7.4% increase, hitting £8.9m, the highest since before the Covid pandemic. The 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space is home to 70 outlets.
Matt Slade, retail director at Quintain, said: “The continued investment by brands into their offer at the LDO, alongside another record-breaking trading month, highlights the destination’s appeal for both retailers and shoppers.”
