Residential Management Group, part of Places for People, has appointed Justin Herbert as its managing director, as founding director Hugh McGeever retires after 20 years in the role.

Herbert has been operations director at RMG for the past 17 years.

RMG looks after more than 144,000 homes across the UK, including managing Places for People’s leasehold properties throughout England and Scotland, as well as thousands more for other clients in large urban developments, rural communities, city centres and specialist housing schemes.

Herbert, said: “It is a real privilege to be stepping into this role and leading RMG. I am really grateful to Hugh for his many years of leadership and I’m looking forward to building on his great legacy.

“We now manage more than 144,000 homes with a sizeable pipeline of secured contracts across the UK and I look forward to growing our portfolio further. As well as managing many Places for People communities, we are proud to work with most of the UK’s leading national and regional housebuilders, institutional landlords and hundreds of resident-controlled management companies to ensure that buildings and neighbourhoods are maintained to the standard people deserve.”

McGeever, added: “The past 20 years have been incredibly rewarding, and I would like to thank all of my colleagues for their hard work, dedication and passion. Their commitment and focus on supporting our fantastic clients and customers have made leading the company such a pleasure.

“I am delighted personally that Justin has been appointed to the role, but it is also great news for RMG and its customers. Justin has been a huge part of RMG’s growth and success throughout almost all of my 20 years here, and he has a genuine passion for putting our clients and customers at the heart of what we do.”
