Planning officers have recommended that City of York Council approves the development of a new neighbourhood in Huntington.
The decision will be made during a committee meeting on Thursday next week.
Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes have teamed up to create the new neighbourhood on a 28-acre site on New Lane. The scheme, designed by JRP, will include 280 homes, about 30% of which will be affordable, and public realm outdoor space.
The houses will range in height from two to three storeys and will provide a mix of tenures from one to four bedrooms.
The neighbourhood will sit close to a community facilities including a doctor’s surgery, post office, recreational facilities, a bank and dentist.
The site is also located within walking distance of employment and shopping facilities located at Monks Cross Shopping Park.
Last year, the developers secured outline planning permission for residential development on the site at appeal. The reserved matters application, brought forward to the council in February this year, outlines outstanding details of the design.
