Bristol City Council has given the go-ahead for a mixed-use hotel, aparthotel and build-to-rent scheme in Temple Meads, Bristol.
IKB Properties and Marick’s scheme comprises three buildings ranging from seven to 11 storeys, and will provide a 232-bedroom hotel, 168-bedroom aparthotel and 108 BTR homes.
Of the BTR homes, 20% will be at Local Authority Housing Allowance rates, with the tenure-blind scheme.
The scheme, one of the last pieces in Bristol’s Temple Quarter masterplan, also includes ground-floor retail space. The site is owned by Homes England.
Sheppard Robson advised the applicants on planning.
Dan Burr, partner at Sheppard Robson, said: “The project will provide much-needed housing, hospitality and retail spaces to enliven and enrich an area which is currently dominated by office buildings, complementing the proposed £95m regeneration that will change the future face of the Temple Quarter.
“For this pivotal plot, we needed to strike a balance between respecting the neighbouring pieces of the city and its industrial heritage, while also setting the tone for a new generation of modern buildings that will be delivered in the years to come.”
