LabTech lets US law firm more space at 90 High Holborn

US law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has expanded its Holborn office at LabTech’s 90 High Holborn, WC1.

Having started with one floor of the building in 2016, the firm has expanded floor-by-floor, with the most recent lease taking the company’s total floorspace in the building from 50,000 to 67,000 sq ft across the third, sixth and seventh floors.

The commitment to a 10-year lease follows a 60% year-on-year rise in profit in the UK last year.
US companies have been a driver of legal sector office expansion across London, which has been described as a “hot spot” this year.

Competition for prime space in London has been particularly strong among law firms. Jack Tomlin, head of City tenant advisory at CBRE, which advised Quinn Emanuel on the deal, describing the current market as “challenging” due to “limited new development stock”.

Alex Gerbi, co-managing partner of Quinn Emanuel’s London office, said the strength of the firm’s relationship with LabTech enabled them to produce an attractive deal despite market challenges.

Gerbi said: “The location suits our business perfectly, being a short walk from the law courts and barristers’ chambers, and equidistant from our clients based both in the City and West End. We look forward to continuing the success of our business from these offices.”
