Castlethorn Construction is searching for an investment partner for its £25m Killeen Castle redevelopment project.
The 560-acre site is situated in Dundrum, Dublin, and comprises a castle, six newly built lodges accommodating 24 bedrooms, 68 luxury residential properties, an 18-hole golf course and a 30,000 sq ft golf clubhouse.
Under the planned scheme, the castle will be redeveloped to a luxury hotel with 43 bedrooms and 16 lodges with 64 bedrooms.
Paul Collins, head of hotels for Ireland at CBRE, which has been appointed to run the search, said: “Killeen Castle’s strategic location close to Dublin, state-of-the-art facilities and championship golf course offer a unique investment with significant growth potential and expansion plans.
“Golf is booming and this is best illustrated with the increase in golf participation across Europe since 2020. The R&A’s 2023 report estimates that 21.1m people across Europe are engaged with golf in some form, whether that be playing, watching or supporting the sport.”
