Family-owned haulage business Campeys of Selby has established a new hub at a multi-modal logistics and industrial scheme in Knottingley, Yorkshire.
The firm has agreed a 10-year lease at Konect62, taking a 61,065 sq ft warehouse which includes first-floor office space and ample service yard space, alongside 148 car parking spaces, with eight EV charging points.
Harry Campey, commercial and operations director at Campeys of Selby, said: “Konect62 is the ideal location for us to take our next step into increasing our storage and distribution service offerings for existing and new customers. The quality of the build alongside the location near the M62 and A1 meant K62 was the perfect addition to our operational portfolio.”
The first phase of Konect62 has been speculatively built by joint venture partners Henderson Park and Cole Waterhouse to provide 375,000 sq ft of prime logistics and industrial space. The scheme, located on the site of the former Kellingley Colliery, benefits from an additional 30-acre serviced plot which has detailed planning permission for a 735,000 sq ft logistics facility.
Earlier this year, food and beverage supply and logistics chain Oakland International took 161,860 sq ft on a 15-year lease at the scheme, while rental, leasing and equipment services provider TIP Group has signed a 10-year lease for a 2.5-acre open storage plot.
Robert Titterton, development manager at Cole Waterhouse, said: “The sustained interest in Konect62 speaks for itself and cements our multi-million-pound commitment to transform the former coal mine into an outstanding place to do business in the region. With three occupiers in place, including local, family-owned businesses and an international company, we’re now looking forward to breathing life into future phases to deliver up to 1.9m sq ft in total.”
DTRE, Sixteen Real Estate and Savills are joint letting agents for Konect62.
