Planning officers have recommended Cambridge City Council’s planning committee gives the go-ahead for the third and final phase of residential development at Newbury Farm.
The proposals, brought forward by Cambridge Investment Partnership in joint venture with Hill Investment Partnerships, aim to tackle Cambridge’s affordable housing shortage. The outline planning application for the wider masterplan, comprising 230 homes across three phases, was approved in 2021.
The first phase, focused primarily on vehicular routes, was delivered in 2022, with the second phase, comprising a reserved matters planning application for 80 homes, approved in August last year.
The latest reserved matters proposals, designed by BPTW and Guarda, span 150 homes and more than 4,000 sq ft of commercial space.
Carter Jonas advised the jv on planning matters.
