Greencore selected for £45m Buckinghamshire housing plan

Greencore Homes, the sustainable housebuilder backed by M&G, has been selected by strategic land investor Richborough to develop a new housing community in Buckinghamshire.

The firm has appointed Greencore as development partner for a 12-acre site in Haddenham.

The site, which is located at the northern end of the village, has outline planning permission for up to 89 homes, including 30% on-site affordable housing and landscaped public open spaces.

The scheme has a GDV of around £45m.

Greencore chief executive Jon Di-Stefano said: “Greencore’s ambition is to build 10,000 of our better than net zero homes by 2035. This acquisition in Haddenham is another step on that journey and we are actively looking for other opportunities to complement our existing pipeline.”

Greencore promises to deliver homes that are net zero in operation, better than net zero embodied carbon in the structure of each home and ultra-low embodied carbon in construction of the whole home. It does this by using closed timber frame panels that are insulated with natural materials, which it says locks in more carbon than they emit.

Bidwells and Orchestra Land advised on the deal.
