JD Gym is nearing a deal to take over the former Carpetright store at Boulevard Retail Park in Peterborough.
The gym group is set to take 10,000 sq at the retail park on a 15-year lease.
The park spans over 124,000 sq ft and tenants include Dreams, Dunelm, Furniture Village, DFS, Sofology and Wren Kitchens. Hobart Activum acquired the park in 2021 from InfraRed Capital Partners.
The store has been vacant since Carpetright entered administration in July, when administrators appointed CBRE to offload 239 leaseholds.
Gym operators have snapped up other ex-Carpetright sites, with PureGym signing a deal to lease a former Carpetright store at Unit 3 of LCP’s Gateway Retail Park in Harwich, Essex.
Morgan Williams is acting for the landlord.
