Ridgeback Group is set to receive planning permission for a 307-home build-to-rent scheme in the Isle of Dogs.
The developer acquired the site in 2022, and its proposal includes developing a 35-storey building.
Of the 307 homes, 35% would be affordable, of which 70% would be affordable rented homes.
The building would comprise a four storey podium and a slender, triangular tower above.
The 0.7-acre site currently contains buildings that range between three and seven storeys comprising a mix of uses.
The site contains approximately 15,000 sq ft of office space. This is currently being used on an interim basis as additional accommodation for Canary Wharf College.
There is also a multi storey commercial car park, with 500 spaces across five floors, and sports pitches at the upper levels and on the roof.
Ridgeback’s plans include demolishing the existing buildings. The proposals will be discussed in a Tower Hamlets Council planning meeting this week.
