London Square has acquired Ransome’s Wharf in Battersea from City Developments Limited.
It is the 13th site bought by London Square since being acquired by Aldar at the end of 2023. After the acquisition, London Square plans to build a £15bn platform over the next five years.
The 1.6 acre site has planning in place for five blocks of four to nine storeys set in landscaped gardens. The development will feature 118 homes, with 94 one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments for private sale, and 24 affordable homes, with more than 19,000 sq ft of commercial space.
Existing buildings, including warehouses and office space on the site were demolished in 2018 and London Square will start construction in autumn this year.
Ransome’s Wharf will be London Square’s third scheme in the London Borough of Wandsworth, alongside Nine Elms and Wandsworth Common.
Adam Lawrence, London Square’s chief executive, said: “Our latest acquisition at Ransome’s Wharf reflects our expansion strategy across prime London since becoming part of Aldar, which has enabled London Square to scale up the delivery of new homes across the capital. Ransome’s Wharf offers an exciting opportunity to bring new focus to this stretch of the Thames between Albert Bridge and Battersea Bridge, creating a highly attractive new destination to live and to visit in one of London’s most desirable areas.”
