Manchester City Council has approved proposals to bring forward an NXQ-branded office tower on Lever Street in the Northern Quarter.
The site comprises nine existing buildings assembled via multiple acquisitions, with Soller Group now preparing to kick off the delivery of an 18-storey scheme, spanning 125,000 sq ft of workspace.
The scheme, designed by Howells Architects, allows the upper floor plates to provide greater area while maintaining space at the lower levels to retain existing buildings on part of the site’s frontage.
Nick Treadaway, founding partner and chief executive at Soller, said: “The design has been considered to offer a perfect combination of past and present with a focus on sustainability and we are excited to see this unique development come to life.
“Soller has worked closely with Manchester City Council to bring this scheme forward into a market that has a chronic undersupply of office space.”
The developer lodged plans last year, with Savills and Knight Frank retained to market the scheme.
