Vistry unveils plans for Sheffield bus depot revamp

Vistry has revealed plans for the transformation of the former Jesmond bus depot in Sheffield into a residential and commercial development.

The redevelopment could see new community spaces, including a café, restaurants and community hub, plus retail and public open spaces. On the upper floors, there will be up to 200 private rented flats with a courtyard space.

Plans, designed by FaulknerBrowns, are expected to be lodged this summer with work starting in early 2026, subject to approval.

Andrew Rennie, development director at Vistry North East, said: “With a mix of residential retail and commercial, this will be a fantastic development and homes that are an investment for young, aspirational professionals, bringing back to life and repurposing the old depot.”

Hedley is advising Vistry on planning matters.
