Newmark appoints head of UK science and innovation arm

Newmark has appointed Paddy Shipp to lead its UK science and innovation division.

Shipp, who has previously served as head of UK life science agency at JLL, will be joined by Rupert Dando, a former senior associate from Savills, who joined the firm in October last year.

The pair will work with the key investors, developers, occupiers and venture capital investors. They will also work closely with Newmark’s other UK teams, including planning and development, higher education, occupier agency and capital markets, as well as Newmark’s US life sciences team.

Earlier this year, the firm, which rebranded subsidiaries BH2 and Gerald Eve as Newmark, took its first steps into the life sciences sector when it was instructed to assist with leasing on biotech research facility Trinity by Breakthrough in Oxford. It will join Carter Jonas as leasing agents.

Simon Prichard, senior partner at Newmark, said: “These appointments directly compliment Newmark’s position in the US life sciences market. Paddy and Rupert’s proven track record and strong client following further strengthens our position in this sector.”
