British Land and AustralianSuper have secured the first two restaurant tenants for their 53-acre Canada Water joint venture.
Sushi Revolution has agreed terms to take 1,850 sq ft on a 15-year lease and The Village Tree has taken 1,250 sq ft on a 10-year lease.
Both operators are planning to open later this year.
The restaurants will occupy the ground floor of Three Deal Porters, a mixed-use building featuring flexible, collaborative workspaces on the upper floors, situated directly across from Canada Water Tube station.
The first phase of the Canada Water masterplan completes this year, delivering 300,000 sq ft of workspace and 13,000 sq ft of retail at Three Deal Porters and Dock Shed, a new leisure centre for Southwark Council and 186 new homes at The Founding.
Alice Keown, leasing director restaurants and leisure at British Land, said: “Sushi Revolution and The Village Tree are both independents with connections to the local area and are reflective of the mix of food and beverage we are looking to bring to Canada Water. They will be in a prime location when they open this year, surrounded by workspace, apartments and the new Canada Water Leisure Centre, which is opening this spring. The day-to-night offering was a key part of their appeal.”
