Property security start-up raises £1m

Sorair, a London-based technology start-up focused on autonomous security, has raised £1m as part of a pre-seed fundraise led by global venture capital firm Pi Labs, with participation from Haatch and Techstars.

Sorair’s AI security solution, Soranet, is already used by clients including DP World and Argenbright Security Europe. Soranet integrates with existing security infrastructure, aerial drones and artificial intelligence to track real-time activity of individuals and assets across large industrial sites.

Sorair founder and chief executive Kunmi Oludoyi (pictured) said: “Our aim is to transform the future of security on large industrial and commercial sites through cutting-edge AI-powered technology that will save significant time and money for real estate owners, security companies and property managers.

“With freight cargo theft costing the UK nearly £500m per year, according to the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service in 2023, there is a clear opportunity for us to positively change the status quo by leaning into technology to elevate the quality and effectiveness of security across industries.”

Faisal Butt, founder and managing partner at Pi Labs, said: “As VC funding in European defence and security tech surged to a record $5.2bn in 2024, according to the Nato Innovation fund and Dealroom, Sorair is incredibly well placed for growth. Sorair’s intelligent security solution harnesses state-of-the-art AI automation and aerial surveillance into a single platform that can be accessed remotely, and provides actionable data insights that take the risk out of on-the-ground operations.”
