British Land secures five new F&B leases at Broadgate

British Land has agreed five F&B deals representing more than 15,000 sq ft of letting activity at Broadgate tower in the City of London.

Wine bar Vagabond has taken 2,100 sq ft at Broadgate Central, spanning the ground and lower-ground floors of 1 Broadgate and 100 Liverpool Street on a 15-year lease.

Velvet Tacos and Bar Kroketa have signed for 2,100 sq ft and 1,300 sq ft units, respectively, both on a 10-year lease.

While Lebanese restaurant Comptoir Libanais and pizza chain Franco Manca have renewed their leases for a further 10 years.

The lettings reflect ongoing leasing momentum at Broadgate.

In February, British Land announced it had delivered circa 200,000 sq ft of office leasing activity since the start of this year and secured a number of high-profile fashion brands at Broadgate Central including Ralph Lauren, Mango, Luca Faloni, Hobbs and Whistles.

Broadgate, which comprises 289,000 sq ft of retail, hospitality and leisure space, attracts more than 29m visitors a year, with retailers seeing a 4.6% increase in sales year-on-year.

Other tenants include Eataly, Los Mochis London City, Everyman, Monica Vinader, Tommy Hilfiger and Space NK.

Alice Keown, leasing director for restaurants and leisure at British Land, said: “Broadgate has become a hub for a broad range of restaurant brands to expand or establish themselves, creating a diverse F&B offer from grab-and-go options to fine dining. These latest lettings are a further illustration of Broadgate’s enduring appeal, not only for workers during the week but also for visitors as a premier seven-day retail and leisure destination.”

Savills and DCL acted for British Land on the deals; Gillingham Bell represented Velvet Tacos, Savills represented Vagabond and Bar Kroketa dealt directly.
