Timken to pick site for £6.6m project

Timken, one of the world’s largest industrial and automotive bearings manufacturers, will decide soon between its plants at Duston near Northampton or Colmar in France as the site of a new £6.63m investment. Despite Northampton’s involvement in the development of the new product, France might well win because it is closer to the majority of potential customers. The investment will be unlikely to create many new jobs.
