West Midlands: Land Secs and AMP plan £250m shopping centre in Birmingham

Land Securities and AMP Asset Management are planning a £250m redevelopment of the Martineau and Priory Square shopping centres in Birmingham. The partners have started informal planning discussions with Birmingham City Council. The mixed-use scheme of up to 92,900 sq m (1m sq ft) is the fourth largest proposed shopping development in the area. The site is next to Masshouse Circus, which the city council plans to redevelop as part of its plans to create Millennium Point, a £110m landmark project.
