Bath and North East Somerset Council is preparing a £1.1m bid to the Department of Transport for a new commuter station at Newton on the western outskirts of Bath.
The station will provide a commuter link with the huge MoD military procurement headquarters at Abbey Wood on the edge of Bristol. A new station to serve the hq opened last year at Abbey Wood.
