The European arm of domestic appliances company Hoover is poised to announce a major investment in the UK this week, along with a number of new products. Hoover’s european hq and main manufacturing plant is located at Merthyr Tydfil, Mid Glamorgan, where 1,000 people are employed. The company also has a floorcare factory in Cambuslang, near Glasgow.
The move is the first of signficance since the Italian manufacturer Candy bought the Hoover European Appliance Group from the US Maytag Corporation a year ago.
