Department store chain TJ Hughes has taken a prelet on a 3,252 sq m (35,000 sq ft) unit which is to be built at Chesterfield Properties’ Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Hughes has signed up for a 25 year lease with five yearly rent reviews.
The new unit will be constructed on space currently occupied by the food court and two side malls. Work is due to begin in September and Hughes will open for trading in Spring 1997.
Tenants in the centre include BhS, Argos, Burtons Menswear and Andy’s Records.
