Homebase is to operate a 3,344.4sq m (36,000sq ft) anchor store and 1,021.9sq m (11,000sqft) garden centre at Cuckoo Lodge, Dumfries, south west Scotland.
J Sainsbury Developments, in conjunction with Thornfield subsidiary Teesfield Developments, will submit a detailed planning application for a 11,612sq m (125,000sq ft) non-food and leisure scheme shortly. If all goes to schedule, completion is due for Summer 1997.
Development guidelines, produced by Hillier Parker for the council, propose a 5,202.4sq m (56,000sq ft) foodstore as the scheme’s second phase.
