BCDC approves leisure scheme at Wednesfield, West Midlands

The Black Country Development Corporation has given the formal go-ahead to Black Country Properties’ and Lanham Developments’ plan for a leisure park in Wednesfield, West Midlands.

The scheme, to be called Bentley Bridge Park, will be built on 8.5ha (21 acres) south of Wolverhampton Road, close to Wednesfield town centre. At the same time detailed planning permission has been granted for a 14-screen multiplex cinema on the site, which Cine UK will operate. The development will also provide family entertainment facilities, three restaurants, two drive-through fast food outlets and a pub diner.

The approval follows John Gummer’s decision not to call in the application, which was a departure from the UDP.
