Distribution group Merck has sub-let its 4,309 sq m (46,380 sq ft) warehouse at Speke, Liverpool, to automotive industry supplier Johnson Controls. The passing rent is believed to be £60,500 pa and the two-year sublease is understood to have been agreed at close to this level.
DTZ Debenham Thorpe and Mason Owen acted as letting agents. Brian Birtwistle of DTZ said the deal was indicative of increased market activity in Liverpool. “The endeavours of the Mersey partnership and the local authority are succeeding in altering the image of the area,” he said.
