Rolls chairman confident of Parsons and International Combustion sale

Rolls-Royce chairman Sir Ralph Robins said several expressions of interest had been received for Tyneside-based Parsons Generation Systems and Derby-based International Combustion units. He said he was confident of achieving a sale.

The company announced pre-tax losses of £169m during the six months to the end of June after provisions for disposal of its steam power generation companies.

But operating profits from the ongoing business rose 50% to £96m. First half sales from ongoing businesses rose 19.3% to £1.77bn.
