Dr Martens manufacturer Griggs Group is taking over Clarks’ factory in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Production was being cut back at the factory with the loss of hundreds of jobs. Griggs will find jobs for 200 of the 400 workers under threat. It is the first time it has expanded outside its home base of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
