Pillar Property Investments has reached agreement with Burton Group for a £20m redevelopment of its existing Debenhams store at Briggate, Leeds. Pillar bought the 7,897sq m (85,000sq ft) store in 1991 with Debenhams as the tenant on a long lease until 2077.
The proposed scheme will provide 9,8773sq m (106,277sq ft) of retail space, incorporating a restaurant and roof terrace. Additional space is provided by the recent acquisition of an adjoining retail unit. Completion is scheduled for summer 1998.
