Semley plans £10m leisure development in Newry, Northern Ireland

Semley Holdings is planning a £10m leisure centre in Newry, Northern Ireland, which if given the go-ahead, will be the first of its kind in the province.

The London-based developer intends submitting a planning application towards the end of this month for a 7,432 sq m (80,000 sq ft) development. The 5.6 ha (14 acre) greenfield site runs alongside the Newry bypass and the town’s railway station.

Semley chairman Stefan Allesch -Taylor said initial negotiations had already begun with Burger King and Irish cinema operator Ward Anderson. The plans also include provision for a 60-bed motel, bingo hall, bowling alley, nightclub and a public house.

Jaimie Dunster and Maurice Sheriden of Chestertons advised Semley Holdings and Conor Mallon of Best & Co advised the vendor.
