Walton Group unveils plans for a £200m shopping centre at Chavasse Park, Liverpool

The Walton Group is planning to build a £220m shopping centre on 2.35ha (5.8 acre) at Chavasse Park in Liverpool.

The developer is buying the site from the Council for an undisclosed sum with the intention of building 74,320 sq m (800,000 sq ft) retail development.

The deal is conditional on whether the Dean of Liverpool, who has first option on the council-owned site, gets Millennium Commission funding for a £32m media centre on the same site.

The Walton Group’s plan has won support from the City Council and the Merseyside Development Corporation but as yet, no plan has been submitted for approval.

Luson Mitchenall is the scheme’s letting agents.
