LSH report increased industrial take-up in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

Industrial take-up in Milton Keynes for the first nine months of the year totalled 83,640 sq m (900,000 sq ft), almost as much as the figure for the whole of 1995, claims a report by Lambert Smith Hampton.

Around 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) of shed space was let in the third quarter, and the projected overall total for 1996 is 111,480 sq m (1.2m sq ft). Last year, take-up for all twelve months stood at just 92,900 sq m (1m sq ft).

According to Paul White of LSH’s Milton Keynes office, much of the demand is from distribution users. The largest transaction during the third quarter was done at the Nexus scheme inTongwell, where Enterprise Freight Forwarding took 4,900 sq m (53,000 sq ft) at £ 40.36 per sq m (£ 3.75 per sq ft).
