EXCLUSIVE Government invites bids for PFI contract for Hereford & Worcester courts

The Lord Chancellor’s Department has announced the first contract in a new £160m PFI scheme to build a series of courthouses across the country.

Bids are invited for the £15m contract to build and manage three new courts in Worcester, Hereford and Kidderminster, and manage the existing court in Redditch.

Sites in Worcester and Kidderminster have already been acquired, and these will be handed over to the winning bidder unless more appropriate alternatives can be found.

Initial expressions of interest are due in by 14 November. A shortlist will be announced in January 1997.
