Mick Hucknall, lead singer with chart topping pop group Simply Red, has acquired a £2.8m stake in hotel group Malmaison. It was previously owned by Arcadian, the quoted hotel group.
Malamaison will now embark on a £29m development programme. The first two buildings to be converted will be Joshua Hoyle, near Manchester Piccadilly station, and the Co-op warehouse in Newcastle. Both will be 120-bed hotels.
