Nottingham Forest bid battle intensifies

Two rival bidders have prepared formal takeover offers and a third has considered launching a bid for Nottingham Forest football club. Shareholders rejected a £13m offer from the Nottinghamshire Consortium on Monday.

This has paved the way for a £17.8m bid backed by Burford chairman Nigel Wray. His bid is supported by Phil Soar, a Nottingham-born journalist and Irving Scholar, former Tottenham Hotspur chairman.

Grant Bovey, founder of Watershed Pictures, is leading a rival bid.
